For many of the Handmade exhibitors at this years Winter New York Int’l. Gift Fair, the most welcomed news at the show was GLM’s plans for the future. Specifically the plans to reorganize the existing Handmade section into two categories: Designer Maker, which will consist of one-of-a-kind and limited production exhibitors and Global Resources, which will be populated with imports and fair trade exhibitors.

The belief of some of the artists I spoke with who attended the announcement meeting is that just U.S. and Canadian artists would be grouped together. I am waiting for a clarification from GLM on whether this is truly the case....
